How to Setup/Change Your Admin Account Password

This guide provides a tutorial on how to set or change your Magento 2 store's admin account password.


Step-by-step guide


1. Log in to the Magento admin panel.


2. ClickForgot your password?



UnderEmail address, enter the email address associated with your account.


3. PressRetrieve Password



You should see a message that says "We'll email you a link to reset your password"


4. Check your email inbox for an email with a subject starting withPassword Reset Confirmation for.


The email should say something similar to:

There was recently a request to change the password for your account. If you requested this change, reset your password here:<link>


Click thelink.


5. UnderNew PasswordandConfirm New Password, enter the password you would like to use for your account.



6. PressReset Password.


Your password has now been reset!
