Event Tickets: Updating Event Ticket Confirmation Email

This article will guide you through the process of updating the ticket confirmation emails.

You will need a basic understanding of HTML to make changes to the email content.

There are two email templates that can be changed in regards to tickets:

  • AW Event Ticket - Email new ticket created
  • AW Event Ticket - Ticket template pdf

AW Event Tickets - Email new ticket created

First, we must navigate to the email template.

  1. In the Magento Admin Panel, go to Marketing> Email Templates.

  2. Click Add New Template

  3. Under Load Default Template, change the Template to AW Event Tickets - Email new ticket created

  4. Press Load Template
  5. You should now see the following:

      1. Template Name - Name of the Email Template.
        1. For an example, you could change this to: New Ticket Email - Spring Fest
      2. Template Subject- Subject of the Email
      3. Template Content - Body of the Email

Editing the Template Subject (AW Event Tickets - Email new ticket created)

  1. Template Subject

    2. This currently will output:
      1. Your ticket(s) to<insert the event the customer bought the ticket for here>
        1. %event_name is replaced with whatever the event's name is on the ticket
    3. Example:

Editing the Template Content

Below you can find a side-by-side comparison of the email template alongside the actual email.

In the example below, the pink section (event description) shows that if the event does not have a description, it will not show on the email.

AW Event Tickets - Ticket template pdf

First, we must navigate to the email template.

  1. In the Magento Admin Panel, go to Marketing> Email Templates.

  2. Click Add New Template

  3. Under Load Default Template, change the Template to AW Event Tickets - Ticket template pdf

  4. Press Load Template
  5. You should now see the following:

      1. Template Name - Name of the Email Template.
        1. For an example, you could change this to: Ticket Attached - Spring Fest
      2. Template Subject- Subject of the Email
        1. This is not relevant in this case as it is just an attached PDF file, so you can have this be the same as Template Name.
      3. Template Content - Body of the Email

Editing the Template Content

Below you can find a side-by-side comparison of the email template alongside the actual PDF.

In the example below, thegrey-blue sectionbelow Sector 10am shows that if the event does not have an attendee set for the ticket, it will not show on the email.
